Fresh doubt over Adams appointment
Former Sussex captain Chris Adams is expected to be named as Surrey cricket manager, the Surrey Mirror understands.
Adams captained Sussex for 11 years and led them to three county titles before quitting in September.
The Brown Caps were relegated from the County Championship division one in 2008 and coach Alan Butcher was sacked.
Adams had been in the running for the job of Sussex chief executive after Gus MacKay quit to take up the post of Surrey managing director. However, David Brooks was appointed instead and Adams seems set to join the new set-up at the Brit Oval.

“Adams is a fighter and just the man we need to turn us around next season. There are too many ego's in the dressing room and he'll put a stop to it. We have to get promoted in the Championship next season and I'd like to see our one day form improve too.”
