Bookham 2 Hartley Wintney 1
Bookham avenged their earlier defeat against bottom of the table Hartley by the odd goal in three despite never really being able to consistently dominate this fixture.
The visitors will feel aggrieved that they left Meadowbank empty handed but in truth both sides missed a hat full of chances to score more goals.
Bookham had goalkeeper Warren Aburn making his debut and the big stopper had an assured game commanding his area well.
Bookham had an early shout for a penalty waved away by the referee as Mark Jarman went down in the box and the home team looked to be relatively in control as Chris Woodward's shot came back off the post 10 minutes later.
Hartley though responded well and their front two Seaward in particular started to seriously trouble the Bookham rearguard without seriously testing Aburn.
At the other end Jarman and Woodward always looked threatening, and it was Jarman who finally gave Bookham the lead as halftime approached. His initial shot was beaten away by the keeper but he was on hand to tuck the rebound away.
The lead was shortlived as Seward equalised on 46 minutes as he raced clear with the Bookham defence appealing for offside.
The same player looked set to give Hartley the lead 10 minutes later as again he raced clear but was foiled as Aburn got the better of the one on one.
Jarman, in between, missed a glorious opportunity to put Bookham ahead again as he lobbed the keeper but also the crossbar.
Bookham regained the lead from the spot after 63 minutes following a trip on Billy Ramsey and the reliable James Piercy neatly dispatched the resultant kick.
Jarman had another one on one charged down by the keeper before Hartley upped their level and finished the stronger. They were hardly disrupted when they lost the influential Wills who left the ground in a ambulance following a head injury. He is expected to be out for a couple of weeks.
In the final few minutes the visitors peppered the Bookham goalmouth and in what was to be their last attack looked certain to equalize as a free kick was swept into the box, but Ollie Dicks got a foot to the ball and made a last gasp clearance.
The win cemented Bookham's mid-table position and with plenty of points to play for they will want to finish as high as possible.
Bookham Reserves reached the semi-final of their League Cup with a 2-0 win over Hanworth Villa, Chris Lewis scored a freak goal from the halfway line and substitute Jake Taylor wrapped up the win late on.
