ANIMAL lovers are being encouraged to adopt an otter in an effort to bring the animals back to Surrey.

Surrey Wildlife Trust says adopting one of the endangered creatures will support vital conservation work and help protect the animals.

Chris Matcham, the trust's otters and rivers project officer, said: "Surrey is one of the few counties left in Britain which has no resident otter population. Sponsors' support will help fund the habitat improvements needed to bring otters back to Surrey."
