Chipstead's promotion hopes were dealt a blow as they slumped to a six wicket defeat to Chertsey.

Having been put into bat in some bowler friendly conditions Chipstead lost wickets at regular intervals as Greg Burton (4-44) and Jack Ogle (1-17) enjoyed themselves.

Only Jarred Tait (47) looked comfortable and his runs, along with contributions from John Blackburn and Richard Brewster helped CCW get up to anything like a competitive total.

In reply Chipstead were given hope of an unlikely victory as Tait and Nick Woods reduced Chertsey to 36-3, but a partnership of 79 between Jon Dodd (76no) and Andy Ford (39) helped them close in on victory.

Greg Burton (15no) joined Dodd at the crease and between them the pair got their side home.
