Cobham Pilates attempting to set new world record with exercise class
WHETHER you're a Pilates expert or a complete novice, Mole Valley residents have the chance to stretch and flex their way into the record books next month.
Cobham Pilates wants as many as 1,200 to join them in breaking a world record for the largest ever Pilates class.
The Guinness world record attempt will take place on Sunday, March 10, and also raise thousands of pounds for Red Nose Day.
The event is being organised by the owner of Cobham Pilates', Donna Pourteymour, who told the Advertiser the idea for the attempt came about during the London Olympics.

The unusual exercise session is open to everyone aged eight years and above, with no requirement to have attended a Pilates class before. It will be held at 3pm in the sports hall at the ACS International School on Portsmouth Road, Cobham.
"It's not going to be complicated or advanced," said Mrs Pourteymour, founder of the Cobham Pilates studio at High Street.
"This is not about our studio. We want everyone to join in, including other Pilates studios in the area."
The lesson will start with a 15-minute tutorial, followed by a session lasting between 30 and 40 minutes, with teachers stationed around the room.
"This is about coming together to do something crazy to raise money for Comic Relief," Mrs Pourteymour said. "We have had an incredible response from the community so far."
It is hoped sponsorship for those taking part will help the event raise £50,000 for Red Nose Day, which will take place the following Friday, March 15.
The current record for the largest class stands at 862, but organisers are keen to gain a comfortable margin to ensure they can hold on to their achievement for as long as possible.
Anyone of a good level of fitness with no injuries can join in the attempt. Those aged under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
