Coulsdon United enjoyed their first win over Worcester Park for several seasons following this success at Woodplace Lane.

With the visitors lying in fifth place in the table and not having lost in their last nine outings, Coulsdon knew they would be in for a battle royal.

And when captain Gary Allen lobbed his own goalkeeper James Polley from 15 yards in the opening five minutes this didn't look like being Coulsdon's day. But after a fizzing shot from Max Cousins flew over the bar, and a header from Marc Farr did likewise, Jamie Marriot turned and swivelled, angling his shot inside the far corner to equalise on 35 minutes.

Coulsdon took heart, enjoying constant running from the impressive Colin Thomas in midfield, along with the tenacity of Tyrone Palmer and the trickery of Dan Bartley starting to have a telling effect.

On 38 minutes Farr was adjudged to have brought down a Park player in the box, and the resultant penalty was smashed home.

Five minutes later the compliment was returned after Tyrone Roberts was fouled and Palmer saw his penalty thump off the upright and into the back of the net.

The second half was an up and down affair, both sides having chances, but a solid and resolute defence plus three outstanding stops from Polley kept the momentum in Coulsdon's favour.

Eventually, Bartley found space down the left flank and his fine cross was met by Tyrone Roberts who squeezed his shot past the despairing Park keeper for the 75th minute winner.

Marriot was unlucky not to make it four when his long range effort was cleared off the goal-line with four minutes remaining.
