County offers quality care for dementia
SURREY is leading the way in promoting a coordinated approach to dementia care, according to a national expert.
At the Surrey Dementia Summit, Professor Alistair Burns spoke in praise of the county's work to more than 200 people, including carers and professionals.
The summit also heard about joint plans being developed by NHS Surrey and Surrey County to improve services for people with dementia, depression and other mental illnesses.
People are being asked to give their views on the plans, developed with help from patients and carers, through a consultation called Fading Memories Affect Everyone that runs until October 1. For details visit www.fadingmemories.surrey health.nhs.uk.
