A BASEBALL bat brandishing robber stole cash from a bank security van in Redhill this morning.

The security van had been delivering money to Barclays Bank in Station Road shortly before 11.30am when a member of staff was confronted by a man carrying a baseball bat.

The man threatened the van worker and forced him to hand over a cash box containing an unknown amount of money.

The thief then made his getaway in a silver 4x4 which drove down the A23 to Lynwood Road.

The thief and his accomplice then got into a yellow truck and drove towards London, where the cash box was later recovered.
