River Mole footpath in Cobham to be repaired after fundraising drive
ESSENTIAL footpath repairs will take place thanks to a fundraising drive to improve Cobham.
The Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust has raised £135,000 for its Riverhill Regeneration Project to improve the area of land near the River Mole. Work began on Monday to resurface a 300-metre stretch of path running alongside the river between the old fire station and Cobham Mill, linking Cobham's town centre to Stoke D'Abernon.
Trust chairman Sir Gerald Acher said: "The new path is instrumental to the success of the Riverhill Project, as it is the link between the High Street and The Tilt.
"People will be able to walk or ride safely in either direction, whatever the weather.

The footpath repairs are part of a six-month project to revitalise the Riverhill area, and should take about three weeks to complete. Overgrown trees along the riverside have already been cut back and the main body of work, including the erection of a viewing platform, will start next month.
