Surrey Championship Division Five

Kingstonian 105

Dorking 106-4

DORKING produced a superb display to secure their first home win of the season and consolidate their place amongst the promotion chasers.

Upon winning the toss captain Graham Dymond had no hesitation in asking the visitors to bat and they were soon in trouble as a fiery spell from Lewis Davies (3-17) removed the first three batsmen for just 30.

With Davies unable to sustain the pace for longer than five overs Kingstonian consolidated to reach 60 before Chadwick (3-28) struck with two in two balls and Dorking piled on the pressure as Overton (2-13) and Yabsley (2-10) ensured that there was no chance of a wagging tail.

Despite losing four wickets in reply Dorking never looked in any real trouble chasing the modest target with Davies (30 not out) continuing his fine form.

The side will be buoyed by such a comprehensive victory and will go into Saturday's home clash with Chertsey in confident mood.
