Dorking up the pace with new fitness regime
Dorking are fighting fit and raring to go against Egham Town, as they look to avenge the 8-0 drumming they got in November.
Vice chairman Ray Collins said the side, aiming to cement their place in the CCL Premier Division, have stepped up their fitness programme and are building a good team spirit.
Dorking, who have only won one out of the last 12 matches, will be looking for a turn in fortunes.
"We are looking forward to a good 2010," said Collins, who is hoping to bring in a new players.
"If someone goes we'll replace him, but other than that if we see a good player who fits in well with the team then we'll have him," he explained. "Having local players in the team is important to us. We've got some pretty good local youngsters at the moment like Andy Millar."
On Tuesday, Dorking entertain Blue Square South side Woking in the Surrey Senior Cup, second round, and Collins is hoping for a competitive game.
"Woking won't send their first team," Collins said. "They are concentrating on the league, just like we are, so they will probably have a team made up of reserves and youth team players.
"We have a good relationship with Woking. Hopefully we'll give them a good game, who knows we might even get a result. They've got a strong academy and some good players and if we spot someone we like, we might even ask for them on loan."
