More than 4,000 visitors were able to get a taste of the kind of entertainment enjoyed by the guests of former house owner Mrs Greville.
The National Trust's learning and events officer Gemma Hodgkiss said: "Polesden Lacey was an Edwardian party house and on a sunny day with the music playing and people in costume, you really got the sense of what it might have been like in the early 1900s.
"We were delighted that the sun shone on a bank holiday weekend."
Youngsters were entertained with traditional activities such as a children's trail, a dressing-up box and giant-size board games including snakes and ladders and dominoes.
Volunteers were dressed in traditional Edwardian attire created especially for the occasion, while visitors had the chance to try on an array of hats.
Families enjoyed picnics on the South Lawn while listening to live music before taking part in a game of croquet.
