Worplesdon & Burpham 167

Caterham 171-3

Caterham continued their unbeaten start to the season as they steamrolled a poor Worplesdon & Burpham side.

Batting first, Worplesdon were soon in trouble.

Bowling patiently, Smith (2-33) and Eversfield (2-44) made timely breakthroughs and when the evergreen twirler Bullen (5-19) was brought into the attack the party really started.

Deceiving the Worplesdon batsmen with his silvery guile he ripped through the lower middle order and left them on a less than satisfactory 167.

On a Park Avenue pitch that is growing ever more enjoyable for batsmen, this was never a total that would really test the in form Caterham batsmen.

Sharing a 140 run opening stand, Wolverson (75) and the ever-ready Eversfield (73no) ensured the result was never in doubt and despite a couple of quick wickets, Caterham soon found themselves home. For more Caterham news and reports log onto thisissurreytoday.co.uk/caterhamcc
