Freemen's sweep aside Cheam
OLD Freemen's got into double figures against Cheam Ladies at the weekend.
The home side put their visitors to the sword with an impressive display of finishing.
Claire Randall was quick off the mark, slipping a couple of balls past the opposition keeper within the first few minutes of play.
Some great dodging by Vicky Law later enabled her to feed the ball up to the forwards resulting in goals by Serena Parham and Randall, and a score of 8-0, before the half-time whistle.
Steph Horst got the second half off to a cracking start when she walloped the ball into the opposition net, and some excellent hassling by Louisa Blair and Kate Allman down the right-hand side prevented Cheam's fast right forward from clawing back the goals.
However, an unexpected break by a Cheam player saw Old Freemen's concede just minutes later. This did not deter keeper Fran Randall though, who soon after made a tremendous dive tackle in a one-on-one.
Some clever passing from Katy Lutley and some nifty runs by Nikki Williams helped to further increase the goal tally in the latter part of the second half.
The visitors managed to score a goal in the final minutes, but it was no more than a consolation as an impressive full-time score of 14-2 proves.
