Godalming Town Charge Into Play Offs
Godalming swept aside Eastbourne Town at a wet Wey Court yesterday to secure the final playoff spot.
With the Gs needing just a point to guarantee fifth, Dan Read settled some early nerves when a gift from the Eastbourne defender meant he applied a simple finish from close range on 11 minutes.

Celebration...Godalming Town win through to play offs
Just 10 minutes later, Read scored his second as he flicked the ball past Kieron Thorp and the ball nestled in the bottom corner for his 23rd goal of the season. Thorp denied Warren Harris a few minutes later, and then Adam Foulser sliced a volley from a corner wide. In first half stoppage time, Jamie McClurg added a third for the Gs, when he struck a low shot from the edge of the area.
Scott Harris scored Godalming's fourth with a skillful lob over the keeper. The Gs made three changes, with an eye on Tuesday's semi final, which seemed to disrupt the rhythm, along with the worsening weather conditions. Danny Curd pulled one back for Eastbourne in the 70th minute, and Joe Summerbell added another 7 minutes later.
