Help find my attacker
Scarred for life, Michael Stark is appealing for help to find the man who disfigured him – before he "kills somebody".
The 28-year-old lost six pints of blood and needed 46 stitches after he was smashed with a whisky glass tumbler in a crowded bar.
Mr Stark still cannot bring himself to go back to Ja Ja's bar in East Grinstead where the attack happened, while his tormentor remains at large.
In an attempt to bring him out of hiding, police released CCTV images last week of the critical moments before the fight broke out on November 28.
Mr Stark, a roofer, who lives with his disabled mother in Blindley Heath, told the Mirror he has been signed off his job until February 1.
He said: "This has been such a traumatising experience. I still have no idea why this happened. I was just standing in the bar.
"The fact that the CCTV shows these two guys just standing over me – not even bothering to call an ambulance – is the most worrying part for me.
"They should be charged with attempted murder. If they are not caught now, who can be sure they won't kill somebody next time. I'm lucky to be alive."
Mr Stark needed emergency surgery following the attack.
His offender has been described as white, with short and spiky blonde hair, wearing a dark blue jacket with a collar. He was about 5ft 7in tall and of medium build. He was clean shaven and spoke with a local accent.
A second man, who was with the offender, is was wearing a white hoody with short, dark, messed up hair.
"Even just walking through the street is taking some getting used to. I feel as though everybody is looking at me and the scars on my face," added Mr Stark.
Det Sgt Sian Griffiths said: "This was a vicious and unprovoked attack that left the victim with horrific facial injuries, which at one point were thought to be life-threatening."
