Badshot Lea 3

Horley Town 3

Battling Horley Town snatched a point from Badshot after equalising three minutes from time from the penalty spot.

The result left Town unbeaten after three games but with two draws already in the campaign, manager Ali Rennie will be looking for improvement.

Last season too many tied games cost the club a shot at promotion and they will not want the same this time around.

Town got off to great start when Tony Jupp was held back in the box and awarded a penalty after eight minutes. Tom Thomas buried the spot kick past the diving keeper.

But Badshot seemed to have been woken up by the penalty and started to take the game to Town from the restart, keeping them on the back foot.

After half an hour Town's reshuffled back four were beaten when Gomes lost his man and volleyed a cross from the left past the stranded Wastell to level .

Almost immediately Wastell had to be on his best form to make a good save to his right from a goal bound shot.

The second half saw Town's in-form forward Adam Pullin put his team back in front with a quality shot across the diving keeper.

Again Lea attacked Town from the restart again and Wastell had to tip over a goal bound header.

Lea made it 2-2 from a free-kick after Alfieri fouled 22 yards out. Lea went ahead after they turned a Horley attack around and broke down the right and the low cross was turned in past Wastell.

Horley's keeper kept Town in the game with wto saves within minutes of each other.

Horley's manager Ali Rennie made two more changes and changed to a back three.

And with three minutes to go Death beat two players before being tripped in the box to be awarded Town's second penalty.

Death stepped up and almost saw the keeper save his shot, luckily the ball crossed the line giving Horley a hard fought point.

They will have their captain Danny Guscott back on Saturday after he missed the game due to the birth of his daughter.
