Police are appealing for witnesses after jewellery thieves made off with a haul worth over £1,000.

A silver Tiffany&Co necklace worth £200 and a men's Beverley Hills Polo Club watch worth £1,000 were taken from a property on August 20.

Police believe the burglary took place in broad daylight between the hours of 9.30am and 4.30pm at a semi-detached property in Tattenham corner.

Detective Constable Audrey Cumiskey, who is leading the investigation, said: "This burglary has completely shaken the victims who are now trying to return their family home to normality."

The family home on Shawley Way was ransacked by the thieves who opened kitchen cupboards and drawers and searched all of the bedrooms showing a determination to come away with goods.

DC Cumiskey said: "Tiffany&Co. jewellery is very desirable and this necklace would normally cost around £200 so if you are offered a silver Tiffany necklace at a heavily reduced price then it may have come from this burglary."

Police are urging anyone who was in the Shawley way area last Thursday who may have seen something suspicious to come forward.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222 quoting reference RB/09/8122 or Crimestoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.
