Shoreham 2
IT was the fifth draw in eight games for a Redhill side looking to be lacking in motivation, despite recovering from a two goal deficit to draw 2-2 against Shoreham on Monday.
The Lobsters went 2-0 down within 25 minutes after goals from Dean Smith and Lee Denyer, but a superb run by Asher Hudson saw them pull a goal back before Darrell Ditchburn got the equaliser with his first ever goal for the Reds.
Alcindor believes that poor referreeing, that saw forward Kyle Morgan collect a red card for dissent, cost Redhill the three points.
"The referreeing today was awful. I could feel myself getting annoyed, so I walked round to the dressing room and stayed there until I cooled off.
"However it was a fantastic equaliser. The boys weren't too chuffed about being subbed off, but there isn't any point in hanging around, we needed to change things."
A quick throw by Lee Radford put Daniel Morris through in an end-to-end start and shortly after Morgan saw an early shot saved by the keeper's knees.
Shoreham scored after eight minutes when a free-kick by Lee Denyer put Smith through for the easiest of tap ins.
A Josh Bonnet free-kick had keeper Ronan Callaghan scrambling, but went wide of the left-hand post.
On 25 minutes it was 2-0 when a Denyer thunderbolt from outside the box left the Reds' defence shell-shocked and keeper May fuming.
Three minutes later and the Lobsters got one back after Hudson ran through the Shoreham defence and watched as his shot trickled into the net.
Owen Callaghan tried his luck from distance, attempting to lob the keeper, but his shot went wide.
Seconds after booking keeper May for swearing, the referee had clearly had enough, and when Morgan let out frustration, the official reached straight for a red card.
In the second half Ditchburn levelled the scores after a superb pass by Hudson put the young midfielder through. He made no mistake in front of goal to open his account for Redhill.
With both teams seemingly settling for a draw, the game quietened until the last few minutes when Hudson had another chance.
Shoreham could have taken all three points in the dying seconds with a 25 yard thunderbolt that took a deflection off Charlie Stagg's head and span towards the top corner of the goal forcing the wrong-footed May to readjust his body and dive at full stretch to claw the ball out the top corner.
Redhill: May, Hudson, Dussard, Stagg, Difford, Headley, Hubbard (Ofusuhene), Bonnet (Elliott), Morris, Morgan, Radford (Ditchburn). Unused sub: Sealey.
