Whyteleafe 2

Whyteleafe took the honours in this boxing day derby with their second consecutive away win, coming from behind on a heavy pitch to clinch the points.

Darren Watson scored an 89th minute winner after fellow substitute Danny Oakins had levelled in a game in which Leatherhead missed an early penalty.

Leafe had the first chance in the third minute. Ryan Royston sent Sam Butler away on the left wing. He beat the defender and his shot from a narrow angle was caught by keeper Colin Harris.

Colin Hutchings shot a free-kick over the bar before lively Lee Sidwell won the ball in midfield, and beat two defenders before shooting wide.

Jordan Wilson shot over from 30 yards after a quick free kick from Daryl Coleman.

Leafe were indebted to Rob O'hara for saving a 17th minute penalty from Hutchings after Rhys Coleman brought down Kevin Terry.

Leathearhead had Iain Hendry to thank for a great saving tackle as the half-hour approached, when Wilson made a penetrating run into the box.

Jason Goodchild was brought down on the edge of the box in the 35th minute. Butler's free kick went off the wall for a corner.

Butler took the corner which came off a defender and hit the outside of the post. Just before half time, Sidwell found Royston just outside the area but his shot was too high.

In the second half Hutchings was denied by Royston who headed his effort off the line.

The hosts took the lead in the 55th minute when a long ball from Hill found Hutchings in space. His well struck shot left O'Hara no chance.

Leafe boss Stuart Massey brought on Oakins to add strength to the attack. In the 65th minute a long throw from Daryl Coleman was flicked on by Royston to Fleming whose shot was deflected for a corner.

Coleman's corner found Fleming at the far post, but he was taken by surprise, expecting Harris to claim it, and his header was wide.

Massey then also sent on Darren Watson to add more strength to the attack. This strategy paid off in the 82nd minute when Leon McDowell won the ball on the right.

His cross was into the path of Oakins who caught the ball first time with a superb volley to give Harris no chance.

From this moment there looked only one winner, with Leafe inspired.

Oakins forced a good save from Harris after a run and cross from Butler. Oakins had to hobble off in the 85th minute after a clash that saw him cautioned.

He was back on after a couple of minutes and Fleming found him in space. He put Sidwell clear in the box and his shot produced a fine save from Harris.

Butler took the corner from which Watson headed just wide. Harris made another great save to deny Rob Kember's shot after McDowell had found him in the box.

Butler's final contribution before hobbling off came in the 89th minute with a superb corner that picked out Watson in the box who headed into the net from close range.

Whyteleafe: O'Hara, Sidwell, Wilson (Oakins 60), Fleming, Coleman R, Royston, Goodchild (Watson 73), Kember, McDowell, Coleman D, Butler (Hammond 90).
