LEATHERHEAD youngster Dan Leach has received international sporting recognition at the age of just 17.

The youngster has been called up to the Thailand national cricket side after impressing at the U19 Asian Cricket Council Challenge Cup last month.

He qualifies to represent the country because he was born there, despite only being there for the first two months of his life, and was part of a young host nation to finish as runners-up in the Challenge Cup event.

He said: "I managed to impress them in a practice game and I can't wait to play out there again now with the men's side, it will be really good."
