Ryman league Division One South
Chatham 2
Whyteleafe 1
Leafe were disappointed not to get anything from this game having taken an early lead and then had a goal disallowed.
Leafe got off to the best possible start with a stunning goal in the sixth minute.
Rob Kember took a free-kick just inside the Chatham half. It found Fred Fleming on the edge of the box, who headed the ball on. Danny Oakins, running onto the ball, hit a superbthe volley and from a narrow angle fired it into the back of the net.
In the 11th minute Darren Watson sent Chris O'Flaherty down the left wing, his cross was turned behind for a corner.
O'Flaherty took the corner, finding Fleming in the box who headed into the back of the net but the referee disallowed it for an off the ball infringement.
The Leafe wall blocked a free-kick and then Brad Potter missed a sitter to level.
When Fleming headed wide from an O'Flaherty free-kick, Chatham went straight to the other end and equalised when Rob Denness found Jack Pullen in the box and he scored from close range.
Rob O'Hara then tipped a fine effort from Denness over the bar, however from the resultant corner, O'Hara misjudged his punch and it fell nicely to Pullen who headed home to give the hosts the lead and ultimate victory.
Pullen, unmarked in the box, should have completed a hat-trick from another corner but headed wide.
O'Hara made a fine save when Denness broke clear but Leafe had a chance in the 41st minute when Oakins chested down an O'Flaherty free-kick but shot wide.
Leafe brought on the lively Keiran McCann at half time and a penetrating run ended when he was brought down 25 yards out.
O'Flaherty took the kick which found Fleming in the box and his header was blocked on the line.
Daryl Coleman then found Fleming in the box in the 62nd minute and yet again his effort was blocked on the line. The ball came back to Fleming but he fired over.
Watson's shot from from McCann's cross was deflected for a corner and Leafe's last chance came in the 83rd minute when Joshua Smith sent Watson clear, but Stroud was quickly out to save at his feet.
