CCL Premier Division

Horley Town 1

Hartley Wintney 1

This game was significant for two reasons. Firstly it was Horley's last home game of the season, and secondly it marked Anthony Jupp's last home game as captain.

A presentation was made to Jupp on the pitch to mark his contribution to the club over nearly eight years.

Town boss Ali Rennie was full of praise for Jupp's contribution to the club.

He said: "His contribution both on and off the pitch has been excellent and the club thank him for all his efforts.

"Anthony will be staying with the club and will take on the role of club captain."

Horley were without any recognised strikers due to holiday, injury and suspension, and started with centre half Danny Guscott and U18s midfielder Harry Williams up-front.

Both of them worked very hard and did their bit to create most of the chances during the first half.

Midway through the half Williams forced a corner, from the resultant set piece the ball was cleared off the line only as far as Mick Norris who smashed in it off the underside of the bar to put Horley 1-0 ahead.

The second half was much the same with Horley dominating the possession and chances.

From one of those chances the ball fell to makeshift striker Guscott. He hit a great low effort past the goalkeeper but unfortunately just wide of the far post.

Just as it looked like the game would finish 1-0 to Horley, Hartley Wintney made a quick break from a Horley throw deep in their own half. From this break they grabbed an equaliser on 88 minutes.

Although this was an interesting game it is was not the result to end skipper Jupp's home record with.
