A man has been charged with criminal damage after more than £2,000 worth of damage was caused to an Ashtead shop window.

Martin Wynn, 24, of Brookers Close, Ashtead, will appear at Redhill Magistrates' Court next month charged with the damage caused at Tesco Express, Craddocks Parade, on January 27.

Surrey Police had released a CCTV image of a man wanted in connection with the damage and urged residents to come forward with information.

Ashtead Safer Neighbourhood Officer, PC Jason Woods said: "Following the release of the CCTV image we received numerous calls from members of the public providing information."
