An elderly man has been taken to hospital after he was involved in an accident with a car.

The crash happened as he was crossing London Road, Reigate, just before 4pm.

Brian Allan, an ambulance worker at the scene, said: "We're taking him in for observations.

"He was hit by a car as he crossed the road. He'll probably need X-rays."

London Road remains open but the accident has caused traffic as delays.
