McGowan knocks out top seed in Arizona
Ross McGowan caused the biggest upset of the first round of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship knocking out the top seed Steve Stricker.
The Banstead golfer only got to play in the event in Arizona because no entry had been received from Tiger Woods.
World No 66 McGowan beat the world number two Stricker with a long, curling putt on the first extra hole to defeat the American after a match in which he had trailed three times.
McGowan now goes on to play Ryi Ishikawa.
