DORKING: A charity is holding an open evening to attract more volunteers.
The Brigitte Trust, based in Dorking, is running the introductory evening on September 16.
The charity offers emotional support and practical help at home to individuals and families facing the effects of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

SURREY: New nurses have been recruited to help people with learning disabilities.
The recruitment is by Surrey and Borders Paternership NHS Foundation Trust. The new recruits, known as acute learning disability liaison nurses, have started work in Epsom General Hospital, St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Frimley Park Hospital and East Surrey Hospital, Redhill.
