SILVERWARE dumped after a burglary has been re-united with its owners.

More than 30 pieces of ornamental tableware, engraved plaques, memorabilia and jewellery were discovered by children in the Bellfields area of Guildford in early January.

And now the owners have recovered their lost valuables after police linked the find to a burglary in Cobham over the Christmas period.

Investigating officer Detective Constable James West said: "This was a significant find and the owner was delighted to receive his silverware back."

Officers located the owners of the stolen goods after contacting a school in Yorkshire, the name of which had been engraved on one item.
