"The circus man has been great too and now we're going to hang around and listen to the music."

David Barnfather, of the Carshalton Pantomime Company, was painting faces. He said: "It was an excellent day, luckily the weather held off for us. We achieved a certain amount of publicity which was good and we have painted a lot of faces."

The free event, which has run for nearly 20 years, is funded by local sponsors and advertising. In previous years, money raised by donations and the raffle has helped install a skateboard and BMX area along with benches and picnic tables in Nork.
