RAIDERS smashed their way into a beauty salon in a midnight break-in.

Workers arrived at the Pure Beauty salon in Redhill on Wednesday morning to discover the door smashed open, leaving shattered glass across the pavement.

Police and forensic teams scoured the area from 9am.

As the Mirror went to press, it had not been established if a theft had taken place.

Michael Hirsh, 60, who lives in nearby Charman Road, heard loud noises coming from the vicinity of the salon.

The freelance graphic designer told the Mirror: "I heard rhythmic thuds, about five in a row.

"I didn't think anything of it really, as it's near the railway line, and they often move bins around.

"But, this morning, I realised it must have been a break-in."

Staff stood outside the property in Hatchlands Road speaking to police officers, who advised them against speaking to the Mirror.

Our reporter was challenged for taking photographs at the scene, despite Surrey Police this week apologising to the Mirror for ordering one of our photographers to stop taking pictures at previous incident – or have his camera confiscated.
