Oxted & Limpsfield 2nd XI 190

Stoke D'Abernon 2nd XI 160

OXTED & Limpsfield 2nd XI got back to winning ways with a good performance against third-placed Stoke.

After losing the toss Oxted were asked to bat first and made 190 on a good looking pitch. But in reply they limited Stoke D'Abernon to just 160.

Nadeem Durrany got Oxted off to a flying start hitting the ball crisply and cleanly.

Skipper Michael Adamson and Kourea moved the score on slowly and carefully to 137 before the tail boosted the total to 190 all out.

Although defending a score they felt was slightly below par Oxted went into the field in a confident and excited mood and knew that if they could get off to a good start they had a good chance in the game. Opening bowlers Ed Earl and Alan Dennison bowled with great control and in the 11th over Dennison got his reward when he bowled Stoke's opener.

Earl then removed the other opener via the same method before the score could be added to and Stoke were 32-2.

Skipper Dickson and Henderson then batted sensibly and put on 37 for the third wicket before Nick Emmins took the first of a five-wicket haul when he removed the skipper courtesy of a Mike Trim catch.

Emmins (5-28) then worked his way through the Stoke line-up as the opposition found themselves needing a further 83 for victory with just three wickets and 12 overs left. Despite some late hitting from the Stole tail Oxted were able to wrap up victory.
