Offin breaks records and earns gold
YOUNG swimmer Henry Offin has had a busy few weeks.
After a fabulous Surrey Championships, the 11-year-old Ashcombe School pupil competed at the Bracknell Long Distance meet in his first ever 1,500m freestyle and gained a gold medal and a regional qualifying time in a brilliant 19 minutes 29.07 seconds, also achieving the 800m and 1,500m freestyle records for his club, Woking.
He then travelled to Portsmouth the next weekend for the Easter L1 Open meet, where he achieved a gold in the boys' 11-year-olds 400m freestyle in a great time of 4:53.41 and a club record in the 100m freestyle in a superb LC time of 1:04.97.
In the 13-year-olds' age group, he also managed to make the 200m freestyle final from a competitive heat with a time of 2:17.50 and another club record.

Offin is now looking forward to the start of the South East Regionals this coming weekend at K2, Crawley where he has now qualified for all races possible in the 12-year-old boys' age group.
