Defeat: Oxted (in red) were out gunned by Battersea Ironsides RSMSNF270909-E-08
Oxted slumped to another defeat against the leaders at Master Park.
But it could have been so different but for a 15 minute first half spell in which the visitors scored three quick goals to stun the home side.
Oxted did play some nice football until the 20th minute when Battersea went in front with a close range header.
Two further goals followed soon after with the visitors putting two quality crosses into the Os box. Oxted were still playing some neat football but rarely threatened the Battersea goal.
Then right on the half time whistle Battersea increased their lead further to leave the Os a mountain to climb .
Oxted rallied well in the second half and made the visitors work hard to keep their lead.
Tom Burn scored the goal of the game with an overhead shot as Oxted continued to dominate and went close with a David Staines shot which crashed against the bar. A better performance from the Os against a very strong team but still a disappointing result.
Oxted: Glassett, Burn, Fairchild, M Hancock (c), Beck, Staines, Digby, S Hancock, Curtis, Harrison, Kane. Subs: Jones, Bamforth.
