SOUTH Park were the stars of the small screen again as they eased to another FA Cup victory, beating a team from two divisions higher, in front of a record-breaking crowd and ITV cameras.

With the large crowd anticipating a giant killing performance, the home side did not disappoint as they took the lead in the first minute through Chris Smith.

Park should have doubled their lead a couple of minutes later, but after Georgie Smith found Kieran Lavery he shot at the keeper.

On 11 minutes a poor clearance from the YMCA keeper found Chris Smith on the halfway line and he ran unchallenged to the edge of the box before placing his left foot shot wide of the keeper to give Park a deserved lead.

Park could now relax and with YMCA offering very little up front the home side sat back and consolidated their position. It was not until the 30th minute that James Wastell in the Park goal was called in to action when with the aid of his defence they smothered the centre forwards effort.

The injured Chris Smith was replaced by Dan Mottram on 35 minutes. With half-time approaching YMCA were now having more possession and from a left wing cross Park were relieved that Guscott managed to clear. In injury time at the end of the first half YMCA were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box but this was wasted. A two goal lead at the interval was more than the crowd could have hoped for.

The second half started with Park on the offensive again. A fine move involving Smith, Mottram and Stone set up Lavery to score however the joy was short lived as the flag was up for offside.

Park increased the lead on 62 minutes. Lavery won the ball on the right and squared for skipper Stone to score from 15 yards.

Park upped the tempo and from Michael Smith's through ball Lavery's shot was deflected wide. From the resulting corner Lavery won the header and when the ball dropped to Parker he made no mistake, easily finding the net.
