A PET shop is offering help to Cub Scouts working towards their animal care badges.

Pets at Home in Brighton Road, Redhill, is putting on workshops where children can receive advice from store advisers on how to care for pets, part of their set badge criteria.

To gain an Animal Friend Badge, Beaver Scouts must learn the correct type and quantities of food to feed fish and small animals and the right kind of home to keep them in.

For an Animal Carer Badge, Cub Scouts must also learn how to recognise common illnesses in dogs, cats, gerbils, guinea pigs, fish, birds and rabbits.
