Ramprakash dropped for the first time
MARK Ramprakash has been dropped for Surrey's game with Somerset this week.
The match got underway at the Oval as the Advertiser went to press yesterday, and veteran batsman Ramprakash was not in the squad.
He voiced his displeasure on social networking site Twitter, saying: "Very disappointed to be left out of the Surrey team for both 1 & 4 day cricket. I'm fit/healthy & want to play. Wish the boys every success."
The 42-year-old has struggled for runs so far this season, making only 62 in eight Championship innings and made only the third pair of his career in the draw with Worcestershire last week.

Some onlookers have declared it the beginning of the end for the popular batsman. This is the first time he has ever been dropped.
But Surrey team director Chris Adams wants to see Ramps "push hard" to regain his place.
He said: "We have not selected Mark Ramprakash for the game against Somerset, which was a very difficult decision to make.
"Mark has had a tough start to the season and has not made the impact with the bat that he would have wanted to.
"But you do not score the amount of runs that Mark has without knowing your own game and I know he will work hard to find his form again.
"The challenge now for Mark is to push hard to regain his place for the remainder of the season."
