Ramsay awarded athlete of match
THERE were some good individual performances from Dorking & Mole Valley juniors at the first of the year's annual Young Athletes League matches at Perivale Park, Ealing.
However, with only 14 competitors across the six age groups, plus five from sister club Reigate Priory (who had a clash with their annual charity races), they were unable to finish higher than fifth with 258 points.
DMV's athlete of the match (awarded a YAL T-shirt) was U17 Harry Ramsay who won the 400m in a club record 53.1 seconds and, making only one attempt at the triple jump, won it with 10.73m.
In the former event he went off very quickly and was probably inside his 200m personal best at the halfway point.
