Reigate cricketers walk to Oval for charity
CRICKETERS set out on the long walk from their clubhouse in Reigate, to the legendary Oval in Kennington.
Players from South Park Manor Cricket Club took 7 hours and 44 minutes to walk the 27 miles from the King George playing fields in Whitehall Lane, Reigate to the south London ground.
Club members intended a relay, passing a stump at points en route, but in the end all members walked the full distance, on Sunday, April 22.
The players, and some wives and girlfriends, raised more than £500 for Cricket for Change, a charity which supports disadvantaged young people through cricket.

Vice-captain John Bullen, 27, who organised the walk, said: "It was a fantastic day for the club and we are all very proud to help Cricket for Change. We've already come up with a few ideas for next year but another walk isn't one of them. Hopefully this will be the start of many activities for the charity."
