Traffic chaos is predicted with a large amount of snowfall expected to fall this afternoon into tomorrow.

The Met office has issued a severe weather warning in the South East of England - with heavy snow showers expected to accumulate up to 20cm of snow.

Snow drifts will be caused by a north-easterly wind, which is likely to disrupt travel networks.

Weather forecaster, Ian Currie, said: "It's going to be very severe and ultra-icy over the next few days.

"It's going to be well below freezing, with sleet turning to ice, and a biting north-easterly wind -treacherous driving conditions indeed."

Motorists are urged to only make journeys if they are truly necessary, and to pack a blanket and water in case they are stranded.

Have you been affected by the snow? If so, call the Surrey Mirror newsdesk on 01737 732088.
