Manager Joe McElligott had to rearrange his team for this visit with with Avery, M Stone and Wilson all unavailable.

He introduced Mullard, who proved to be a class act, at centre back and Sinclair in at left back, with West taking the right back spot.

The game started at a brisk pace and Park thought they had gone one up after only three minutes, but their effort was ruled off side. With Burgess weaving his magic and Smith causing havoc down the flank, the Hounslow defence found themselves being run ragged. But the opening goal went to the visitors, a free-kick on the edge of the box squirmed it's way home on 12 minutes, keeper Polley getting a hand to it but not enough to push it wide. The equaliser came eight minutes later, the industrious Jones never giving up the chase whipped the ball across the box for Smith to run on to and head home from close range.

From this point it was all one way traffic with Mottram putting in a fine cross for Burgess whose header went inches wide and again Smith setting up Burgess.

This time his header was saved, with Mottram blasting over, and Jones rounding the keeper but his shot went wide.

The game took a nasty turn just before the interval with a cynical challenge on keeper Polley with the referee taking no action.

South Park then popoed the tempo , with Burgess being denied twice, and Mullard having an effort saved from a Stone corner.

More trouble erupted on 70 minutets with a nasty tackle on West, which led to three yellow cards, two for the visitors and one for Mottram.

Subs Parker and Earle came on for Jones and Mottram in the last quarter but Parker being brought down on the edge of the box after only a few minutes and Stone's free-kick was only inches over the bar.

Earle was also unlucky with a goalbound effort being tipped over by the keeper.
