Old Freemans 212
Ashtead 214-3
THE traditional derby saw OFs win the toss and decide to bat despite the overhead conditions.
Guy Savin got the first wicket when he got Ben O'Connor to edge through to Nik Blundell behind the stumps for a single.
Jarett (3) was then beaten for pace by skipper Latham who induced a pull shot and another catch to Blundell.
The prolific Rippen gave a tough early chance down the legside off Latham to Blundell whilst on nought as Old Freemans struggled to get Savin and Latham away.
Ridley was bowled by a good one from Latham for three as the skipper (8-1-26-2) and Savin (8-2-28-1) bowled straight through their spells.
Rippen cut loose against Dom Sibley's leg spin and initially against Tim Leonard's off spin, who recovered sufficiently in his five over spell.
At the other end Vickery removed Camp (10) who placed a low full toss to mid off where Latham took the catch.
Pete Donelan replaced Vickery, who bowled a tight four over spell, and removed the obdurate Innes lbw for two whilst Rippen was blazing away at the other end.
Vickery (8-2-30-2) returned down the hill and bowled Glover for a hard hitting cameo of 25 off his pads.
Rippen sailed through to his century but on 128 he was bowled by Donelan, who then removed skipper Jones caught and bowled first ball. Davies ensured there was no hat-trick.
Donelan removed both Davies (7) and Cameron (1) who were stumped by the alert Blundell and the visitors were all out for 212.
Tom Davies bowled quickly and with Jones' medium pace gave openers Mark Sibley and Gavin Dixon a test but this was confidently dealt with.
Dixon, playing some excellent shots, was looking set for a big score when he was run out by a direct hit from Davies for 29.
Dom Sibley joined his Dad and started scoring runs in a calm and measured way, whilst Sibley senior went past another 50 for the season.
A number of fine strokes were played against a variety of seam and spin bowling as Old Freemans struggled to break the partnership.
Mark Sibley cracked another drive for four of Jarrett to bring up another century for the season and he was finally out for 107 stumped by the energetic Rippen off Ben O'Connor.
Skipper Latham raced to a quick fire 18 in the quickening gloom before being bowled by Tim O'Connor.
Fittingly Dom Sibley hit the winning runs and pass 50 in the process.
A great win against one of the Stags' bogey teams and plenty of plus points to take into the last couple of games.
