Stephen Mole's latest diary
Surrey is a dog and cat lovers' paradise. We have a cat but all our neighbours seem to have both cats and dogs. Our Sam has an unusual diet - like most cats he normally sticks to his "Atkins' Diet" of mainly meat which is why he is so lean and fit. Yet ... he loves vegetables - our previous cat called Pudding (he was not known as this for nothing!) liked curry and we thought he might have been abandoned by an Indian restaurant before we got him from the Cat Protection League.
Sam has, literally, expanded his diet - he eats elastic bands or would if we didn't stop him! He was playing with one the other day and decided it tasted so good he would eat it - it was one of those red ones the postman drops outside your house - perhaps we have found another use for them!
A dog I know called Bilbo, now with the angels, used to eat towels! Well, the middle of them anyway. He would digest the dinner plate sized piece and then deliver it a couple of days later! He lived to a ripe old age and perhaps the towel literally cleaned him out!.
Do your pets have unusual eating fads?
