WHO says January is a dull month once the fun of Christmas and New Year is over? This week sees a chance to celebrate again with Chinese New Year on Monday, January 23 and Burns Night on Wednesday, January 25.

It's the year of the dragon according to the Chinese zodiac so why not head to your local Chinese restaurant to celebrate? We give a few examples of those marking the occasion.

Then pay tribute to the Scottish poet Robert Burns. Raise a wee dram of whiskey and tuck into some haggis at events in our area.
