Travel information website launched
The frustration of traffic jams, cancelled trains and late buses are common miseries for thousands of Surrey's commuters.
Although these problems will never disappear, a new website has been launched in Leatherhead that could make everyone's journeys that little bit easier.

Surrey County Council launched the website at its traffic management HQ in Mole Business Park, Leatherhead, on Monday.
The website will provide real-time information to travellers – including information about traffic jams, accidents, road works, car park locations and capacities as well as information on trains and bus routes.
Councillor Ian Lake, the executive member for transport, explained: "This will not only make travelling less stressful, but should also contribute to easing the congestion on roads, as people will have better information abut disruption and jams to avoid.
"As time goes by we'll be looking to add new features and make improvements to provide Surrey residents with as much information as possible."
Mandy Theobald is one of the call centre managers whose team will work 24/7 to update information about what is going on in the county.
She said: "We will put up anything from obstructions on the highway right through to road closures and potholes. Also if trees have fallen down and if there is severe weather we will update the website."
Residents can also provide information to the website itself by reporting traffic signal faults. They can even use an interactive map to point out where the faults are.
In the future the website will also allow residents to report potholes and other faults on the road.
Although it has just been launched, the county council is already looking for feedback with a questionnaire for visitors to give their views on what is good and bad about the website.
Tim Brown is one of the senior engineers who designed the website. He said: "We are hoping the public will fill the questionnaire out because we are giving them a chance to share their ideas with us."
The website's address is www.surreycc.gov.uk/travel
