Oxted & Limpsfield 239-8
Lingfield 237-8
OXTED won a pulsating Cup final by two runs to collect their first piece of silverware for many years.
The thrilling finish at Godalming could not have been more exciting with a seemingly impossible 26 runs needed from the final over.
Oxted fast bowler Lee McIllwraith turned from potential villain to hero as he beat the bat with Lingfield needing four to win off the final ball of the last over of the match.
Phil Trayner had little hesitation is batting first after winning the toss.
Oxted did not make the ideal start as Stuart Fletcher was bowled with the score on seven.
However, Nick Hugo (66) was back to his aggressive best facing only 68 balls with three huge sixes and turning the game back in Oxted's favour as he and Adamson added 101 for the second wicket.
Hugo was well caught well above his head by Mitchell in the covers as the batsman continued to attack, but Adamson continued the anchor role and reached 50 in 93 balls, as he and Barath added a solid 98.
Barath (34) gained in confidence after a stunning cover drive early on, and Adamson became more inventive after reaching his 50, using his feet well against the spinners.
With the score climbing both batsmen were then both out to outstanding catches by Harvey Jarrett.
Adamson (85) was first caught on the long on boundary, and then Barath fell to a brilliant catch in the deep.
Nadeem Durranty provided much needed impetus with 25 runs in only 12 balls to guide the Master Park side to a solid 239 in their allotted 45 overs.
In reply Lingfield raced to a fine start with 44 runs coming in the first seven overs.
Lloyd (16) was first out in the ninth over, lbw as McIllwraith found his line.
Ian Barney was introduced at the pavilion end, and he built the pressure going for just 21 runs in his overs
Ned Lack (2-35) backed up his bowling with some sharp fielding, running out Mitchell to a direct hit at the bowlers end, and then combining with the diving Trayner to run out Widrig.
Ed Earl (3-51) helped to tighten Oxted's grip.
Jarrett dispatched Earl for a huge six over mid-wicket, but was stumped as the game seemed to be drifting Oxted's way at 184-8.
But the ninth wicket pair of Hunt (18 no) and White (26 no) had other ideas but the task was too great and Lingfield they fell two short at the end.
