Ben Baker and Trio Boyarsky filled St Nicolas' Church to capacity for the second time this winter.
Fetcham violinist Ben, well known to local audiences, was joined by two celebrated musicians, Konstantin Boyarsky (viola) and Amelia Jakobsson-Boyarsky (cello) who together form Trio Boyarsky.
The string trio have been playing together for nearly two years and have already made their mark internationally with tours of France, Sweden and, later this year, New Zealand.
The Russian, Swedish and New Zealand-born musicians played with an energy and authority which held the audience spell bound.
Schubert and Piazolla were followed by a wonderfully exciting and energetic Passacaglia by Handel/Halvorsen played by Ben and Konstantin.
The concert was concluded in style with Konstantin's own composition, Mosaique Musicale, which brought cheers of "bravo" and rapturous applause. Two encores were played to the hugely appreciative audience.
In total, £2,018 was raised for the World Vision Haiti Appeal from the concert and £750 of this was donated by Legal and General.
