As part of the Bee Part Of It campaign BBC Surrey is adopting its own honeybee hive, allowing listeners to follow the development of the honeybee colony on air and online at www.bbc.co.uk/surrey
Sara David, the managing editor of BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey, said: "We're going to be broadcasting information on ways you can help keep bees safe, as well as making regular visits to our adopted hives."
