IT was a case of more missed opportunities costing Dorking Wanderers victory as they had to settle for a draw at Bosham.

Wanderers found Bosham keeper Sam Joyce in inspired form as they created numerous chances, but could not force victory as they were pegged back three times by the 10-man hosts.

The visitors took the lead when Matty Evans headed home a deep cross at the far post in the first half.

Bosham hit back though when they capitalised on an uncharacteristic error from Justin Skinner, who tried to play a pass back to Josh Lennie, without realising a home forward was lurking.

Tom Davis bagged a superb solo goal in the 43rd minute to restore the lead, before the hosts had a man sent off to further put Wanderers in the ascendancy.

They continued to boss the game in the second period, but keeper Joyce pulled off what manager Marc White described as four "unbelievable" saves to keep his side in it.

And when a high ball hit Shane Duffell's arm in the penalty area, the hosts were level once again.

Lee Smith, who had been denied by Joyce's heroics in the home goal, eventually netted to restore Wanderers' lead once more, but Bosham equalised one final time in the last 10 minutes, from their only corner of the half to claim a share of the spoils.

White said: "It should have been a landslide win really, but it's the story of our season.

"Their keeper is phenomenal, he is playing streets below where he should be playing, that's well known but we have got to learn how to win games and close up shop and not concede.

"We missed chances and their keeper was world class but equally three goals should be enough to win us any away game. Mistakes have cost us dearly."

Wanderers travel to Hurstpierpoint on Saturday before taking on Broadbridge Heath on Easter Monday.
