MARC White has made two "massive" signings to boost his squad as they prepare for a title tilt.

Wanderers currently sit eighth in Sussex County League Division Three, but they have games in hand over six of the seven teams above them.

And White was delighted to reveal that he has brought two new players on board.

He said: "We have just signed Josh Lennie, a 23-year-old goalkeeper who signed professional forms with Brentford when he was just 17. He went on to play for AFC Wimbledon, so he's a massive signing for us.

"Ian Purkiss has been outstanding for us in goal, he's 46-years-old, he came out of retirement to help us out and he's still going to be a big part of what we are doing here."

White also revealed that he has agreed terms to sign Merstham assistant manager John Hamsher as well.

He added: "Hamsher played 300 games in the Conference for Rushden and Diamonds, he's been an FA Trophy finalist and signed as a pro with Fulham when he was younger too, so that's another massive signing for a club like this."

Both players will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game with TD Shipley as Wanderers look to move up the table.
