CB Hounslow 4 Warlingham 1

Manager Mark Doherty watched his side slump to defeat then expressed his joy at signing former Chipstead captain Richard Williams, who scored on his debut.

He has released youngsters Richie White and Liam Nieves who both failed to reach his expectations.

He said he had "bent over backwards" to accommodate the highly rated youngsters but both had failed to put the necessary effort or commitment in that a player at this level needs to do.

"They definitely have the ability to shine at this level, but their commitment levels did not warrant me keeping either player or picking them in front of players with less ability who were willing to train and give their all for this club," he added.

Doherty added he knew this would weaken his side in the short term but Warlingham survives on team spirit and camaraderie and that both players had failed to commit to what he felt was the required minimum

On signing Williams he said he would bring experience to the side.

"Richard will give us experience and if we can keep him fit, depth in midfield," he explained.

At Hounslow, Wars yet again conceded early goals due to defensive lapses.

They again missed good chances and found themselves 3-1 down at half-time when it could easily have been far reversed and doubled in their favour on chances and possession.

Hounslow added another early on in the second half and the only positive to take from the game for Doherty was the impressive comeback of Michael Brown, back from injury after two months .
